Duuuuddddeeeee, it’s a Batik Day. It is the 4th Batik Day exactly since UNESCO assigned Batik as a World Heritage in Oct 2nd 2009. It was such a pride, because before that day Malaysia claimed Batik as their heritage. Why didn’t i write “National Batik Day”? Because Wikipedia says, Oct 2nd is the day when Batik claimed as World Heritage, it means world wide!!! How proud!
In its official website, UNESCO wrote Indonesian Batik has many symbols that are closely linked to social status, local culture, nature and history itself. Indonesian Batik is rated as the nation’s identity and be part one in Indonesia from birth to death. So youth, it is ours to maintain this world heritage 🙂
